"Just one scroll" Becomes an hour fast

Run a timer. Block distractions. Get pulled back before the session dies.
Start a structured focus timer and choose the apps that usually pull you away. During sessions, Distraction Shield interrupts those distractions, then the Goblin reacts so you can recover before one app switch becomes a lost hour.
Instagram can wait. Back to the session.
Normal timers keep counting while you disappear.
CogniFocus protects the session itself - with a focus timer, Distraction Shield, Goblin reactions, streaks, XP, and recovery nudges.

Why a normal timer is not enough
| Normal timer | CogniFocus |
|---|---|
| Tracks time | Tracks protected focus sessions |
| Keeps running while you drift | Interrupts selected distractions during sessions |
| No reaction when you open distracting apps | Goblin reacts when attention slips |
| Depends on willpower | Adds friction when impulse hits |
| Easy to ignore | Rewards recovery with streaks and XP |
Quick Answers.
The short version
What is CogniFocus?
CogniFocus is a character-driven Android focus app with a timer, Distraction Shield, Goblin reactions, progress, streaks, and recovery nudges.
How is it different from a normal timer?
A normal timer keeps counting while you drift. CogniFocus keeps the session visible and reacts when blocked apps pull you away.
How is it different from a basic app blocker?
Blocking is only one layer. CogniFocus adds a companion, goals, reminders, recovery and progress so the habit gets reinforced.
What happens if I open Instagram or TikTok?
During a protected session, Distraction Shield can interrupt selected distracting apps while the Goblin pushes you back to your session.
What does Pro add?
Pro adds stronger Shield capacity, Manual Block, Planned Sessions, reminders, recovery nudges and paid-tier restore support.
Why does CogniFocus need Android permissions?
CogniFocus uses Android permissions such as Usage Access and Display Over Other Apps so Distraction Shield can detect selected distracting apps and show the blocking screen during focus sessions. It does not read your messages or in-app content.
Is CogniFocus available on iOS?
Not yet. CogniFocus is currently available on Android through Google Play. iOS is not available yet.

Why I built CogniFocus
I built CogniFocus because normal timers never worked for me.
I could start a focus session and still end up switching apps without noticing. The timer kept running, but the time was already wasted.
So I wanted focus to feel less passive - more like a companion keeping an eye on the session and pulling you back when you drift.
That became CogniFocus: a timer, a blocker, streaks, recovery nudges, and a Goblin that reacts the moment your focus slips.
